Penblade: Sharpen Your Writing Skills

A creative writing class for juniors to help them cut out a story from the various things around them

Age group : 9 - 14
(however, if a student is interested but not within the age group, we ask that a parent is available to supervise an assist in class)

Tentative

11am : Ice breaking and warm up vocals and body

11:15am : What's your favourite ___________
 - We discuss interests and explore what we like about them using who, what, where, when and how questions

11:30am : Drawing time!
 - Students are required to draw a character or creature based on the previous exercise and share with the class

11: 45am : What makes you _______ (emotion)
 - Students are asked about their emotions and we explore ways to have the characters they've drawn up experience the same things!

12:10am : Short break to freshen up

12:15am : Everyone's characters need to overcome one big thing.
What is that big thing!
 - Students will need to share their challenges, and learn how to write on empathy with their characters.

12:45am : Story time!
Teacher Umar will weave a story together with the students who are willing to share their characters. 
Students will explore cooperative story telling

1pm : Fond farewells! Students are given homework to share on their social media or for personal safe keeping.
